St. Augustine's and St. Mary's are restarting religious education, and things will look different this year.
As you know, Masses resumed several weeks ago at St. Mary's Church in Brushton with a strong plan of distancing, sanitization, and masks, and it has been effective to the point that we can offer more to students than we first thought possible.
We understand the burden the pandemic has caused in everyone's home lives and we want to support you and your children, with their safety as our first priority. Our goal is to provide your child with the education and support they need to grow in their relationship with God without overwhelming your child and your family during this very challenging time.
One option is to 100% home educate. Materials would be available for pick up, with guidelines and instructions, but no in-person contact with your child's Catechist. Completed packets would be dropped off, and follow-up with your Catechist would be as needed by phone or email.
Another option is for us to offer a once-per-month in-person class with your child's Catechist, with a small amount of material to practice over the intervening weeks. Materials would be returned at the next class for guidance and discussion. Class participants will maintain safe distancing and all other safety measures. Again, student safety is our number one concern.
